 Questions
&
Ponderings

How Often Should I Come To Counselling?

To begin with, I suggest weekly or biweekly sessions. Over time, you may find you no longer need to come as often and may just come monthly or every 6 weeks for maintenance-style sessions.

What Are Your Fees?

Individual sessions are $150 per 50-minute session. Couples or Relationship Sessions are $180 per 50-minute session

You have the option to pay by e-transfer at the end of your session or charge to the credit card on file on your Jane App account.

Is Therapy Long-Term or

Short-Term?

My work is grounded in depth and relational psychotherapy, which unfolds over time. Lasting change,  especially around attachment, trauma, and intimacy, often grows through a consistent therapeutic relationship.
Some people come with a specific focus and work short-term, while others choose longer exploration. You are never obligated to stay, this is your process, and you can pause or end at any time.

Do You Offer Sliding Scale?

I am accepting a limited number of clients who do not have extended medical benefits and are facing financial barriers at this time at a reduced sliding scale rate.

$75-$100 per 50-minute session (Individuals) $120-$150 (Couples & Relationships)

Do You Offer Free

Consultations?

The most important component of therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist. To ensure you have the best possible therapy experience, I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation via phone. This allows you to connect with me and ask any questions you may have about my approach and practice.  The call will help us to see if we might be an aligned therapeutic fit. You don’t need to decide everything right away; often, your nervous system will tell you more than your mind can.

Do You Accept Insurance or

Funding Programs?

Sessions are often covered by extended medical insurance. Check your policy to confirm Registered Clinical Counsellor coverage. I cannot direct bill most insurance providers at this time.

I am a CVAP (Crime Victim Assistance Program) and ICBC service provider.

What Is Depth Psychotherapy?

Depth psychotherapy invites you to explore the deeper narratives that shape your life — the unconscious beliefs, repeated patterns, and relational dynamics that influence your relationships, choices, and sense of self. It goes beyond managing symptoms that lie on the surface and instead focuses on uncovering the root.

What Is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy used to help process trauma and other distressing experiences. It uses bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements) while briefly recalling aspects of a memory, which supports the brain’s natural information processing system.

Over time, this helps reduce the emotional intensity of the memory, shift negative core beliefs, and lessen the impact these experiences have on your present-day relationships and sense of self. EMDR is often integrated with talk therapy to support bigger, lasting change.

How Do I Know If

We Are The Right Fit?

Finding the right therapist is a lot like dating — it’s less about credentials on paper and more about how you feel in the room. The right fit is someone you feel safe with, understood by, and gently challenged by.

We may be a good fit if you’re drawn to exploring patterns beneath the surface — especially in relationships, attachment, intimacy, identity, or trauma.

If you’re curious about your patterns, open to self-exploration, and want more than just symptom relief, we may work well together.
